The Resume

His nickname during his playing career was 'The Cat.'
He was considered too small for a goaltender.
He never won an individual award during has career.
He bounced around the minor leagues following his release from the Rangers.
He did three separate coaching stints with the Rangers and two with the Blues.

Why he might not be annoying:

He pursued the goaltending position after his uncle saw the range he developed as a shortstop was transferable to the crease.
He successfully petitioned the NHL to allow him to use the baseball glove as a catcher, which would become a fixture in goaltending equipment.
He admitted his reasoning for using the baseball glove was to reduce the strain on his catching hand when saving the puck.
He was credited for overseeing the successful effort of saving the St. Louis Blues from both a possible relocation to Saskatoon and the threat of contraction.
His son Bob Francis followed in his footsteps and served as the head coach of the Phoenix Coyotes during the early 2000's, earning the Jack Adams Trophy during his third season at the helm.
