The Senators traded him for an aging Peter Bondra, in what would become one of the worst deals in franchise history.
He went 269 days without scoring a goal (2014).
He was virtually unknown in mainstream circles, prior to his relationship with Julianne Hough.
He admitted to being incredibly shy an an interview with a Washington, D. C. radio station.
His tenure with the Senators lasted one game.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was named after Orioles legend Brooks Robinson.
He is considered a valuable leader in the Capitals locker room.
He gained national attention after he changed a flat tire for a mother and daughter who were stranded on the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge, hours after the Capitals Game 7 elimination loss (2010).
He was humble, when asked about the gesture, citing it wasn't a big deal and his expertise on tires outweighed hers.
He was instrumental in the negotiations that ended the 2012-13 NHL lockout.
