He has been criticized for orders he gave at Gettysburg.
His nickname was 'Little Powell.'

He was mentioned in the dying words of both Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee.
He always wore red shirts into battle, so his enemies would never see him bleed.
He died seven days short of the Civil Wars' end.
His Division (Hills Light Division) had a reputation for arriving at the right times and turning a battle.
