    Despite being the second left handed throwing catcher in Major League history, the Cubs lost the three games he played at catcher (1958).
    He only received one All-Star selection (1956) throughout his 12 year Major League career.
    He was a member of the 1960 World Series losing Yankees team as the Pirates' Bill Mazeroski hit the walk-off home run in Game 7 of the series.
