    He refused to allow any gay characters at Marvel.
    He is a polarizing figure in the comics industry.
    He clashed with Marvel creators.
    He was fired from Marvel.
    He co-founded Valiant only to be fired from there too.
    He wrote character descriptions for the Legion of Superheroes that detailed what they might be like in bed. (EW!)

    He began writing comics at 13.
    He turned to writing to support his parents.
    He was a stickler for deadlines at Marvel.
    He insisted that the X-Men's creative team make changes that resulted in one of the most popular story arcs in comics history, 'The Dark Phoenix Saga.'
    Marvel enjoyed successful sales and produced some classic comic book stories on his watch.
    He has a blog where he talks about his career in comics.
