    Born in Tokyo, Japan
    Birth name was Tokitaro
    Ukiyo-e (wood block) painter and printer
    Best known work is 'Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji'

Why he might be annoying:

    He used over thirty names during his career.
    He was expelled from art schools for clashing with his teachers.
    He created a painting for the shogun by painting a blue curve, then chasing across the paper a chicken whose feet had been dipped in red paint, and calling the results a landscape of a river with red maple leafs floating in it.
    He called himself 'the old man mad about art.'

Why he might not be annoying:

    He painted 30,000 works and had over fifty pupils during his career.
    His studio and much of his work was destroyed in a fire (1839).
    On his deathbed, he said 'If only heaven will give me just another ten years, then I could become a real painter.'
    His works were collected by and influenced Impressionists such as Claude Monet, Edgar Degas and Toulouse-Lautrec.
