Why they might be annoying:

They originally were called Pezz but ran into legal trouble. (Not, as you might imagine, from the makers of Pez candy, but from an American band already using the name.)
Their new name resulted in some fans assuming Billy Talent was the lead singer’s name.
They did not show much imagination in titling their first three albums.
Despite a decade and a half of recording, they have been unable to break into the American market.

Why they might not be annoying:

The band formed at a high school talent show.
They have been nominated for 34 MuchMusic Video Awards, more than any other artist.
Gallant commented about the video for ‘Surprise Surprise, ‘It’s gonna be awesome! Fighter planes, flying sharks, hipsters, a pig man… What a life!’
Although a relapse of multiple sclerosis left Aaron unable to play on the ‘Afraid of Heights’ album and subsequent tour, he is still considered an official member of the band, just one ‘on hiatus.’
