    He is portrayed as a deformed, hunchbacked villain in Shakespeare's play.
    He imprisoned his two nephews in the Tower of London.
    He had his nephews declared illegitimate.
    He is believed to have ordered his nephews' murder to seize the throne for himself.
    He allegedly wanted to marry his own niece.
    He was killed at the Battle of Bosworth (1485).
    He was most likely not deformed and hunchbacked. (His long lost remains do suggest he suffered from scoliosis.)
    He has defenders, including the Richard III Society.
    He has been portrayed by Ian McKellen, Kenneth Branagh and Laurence Olivier.
