    Because of its generic title, the first page of a search engine search won’t necessarily yield results for the show itself.
    In the pilot movie, Everett’s iconic role would be played by Richard Bradford.
    Until 1972, Everett and Daly were the only regulars.
    Though credited as a regular halfway through its run, Totter appeared in only one of every five episodes — far fewer than Hutson and only slightly behind others who never became regulars.
    Curiously, it was a favorite of younger viewers in first-run.

    It happily took on hot-button medical issues, such as STDs and abortion, head-on.
    Two episodes were directed by Everett himself.
    Daly’s own daughter Tyne appeared as Lochner’s daughter.
    It managed to finish eighth in the Nielsens, its highest overall rating, for its second season.
    With two original episodes more than Marcus Welby, M.D. (which ran during the exact same period), it was the longest-running medical series of the time.
