    Despite recording 'Duke of Earl' with the Dukays, the record company credited the single to Chandler as a solo act.
    He usually sang his signature song 'Duke of Earl' in a costume of a cape, monocle and top hat.
    His song 'Tomorrow I May Not Feel the Same' was sampled in the song 'Ghetto Afterlife' by Reflection Eternal.
    His song 'Duke of Earl' was often used as background music for commercials.
    He had a brief stint in the US Army.
    His song 'Duke of Earl' peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks.
    He later became involved with music production, often producing albums under the Constellation, Mercury, Chi-Sound, and Salsoul labels.
    He won numerous awards, including the National Association of Television and Radio Announcers Producer of the Year Award and was an honoree of the Grammy Hall of Fame.
