The Resume

    (May 6, 1972- )
Goaltender for the New Jersey Devils (1993-2014)
Won three Stanley Cups with New Jersey Devils (1995, 2000, '03)
    Won Calder Memorial Trophy (1994)
    Won/Shared William M. Jennings Trophy (1997, 1998, 2003, 2004)
    Won Vezina Trophy (2003)
    Won Olympic Gold Medal (2002)
Only goalie to post four 40-win (or more) seasons
One of two goalies (other being Ron Hextall) to score a goal in playoffs (versus Montreal, April 17, 1997)
Won World Cup of Hockey (2004)

Why he might be annoying:

He separated from his wife, Melanie, after having an affair with his sister-in-law, Genevieve Nault (Christmas 2002).
Melanie filed for divorce (May 2003).
He was snubbed three times for the Vezina Trophy as the league's top goaltender, because the voters believed his success was the result of the New Jersey Devils' defense-first system.
Despite setting a record for most shutouts in the postseason (seven in 2003), he lost the Conn Smythe Trophy to Anaheim goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere.
He is a game-hog, averaging 70 starts per season.
His superstition is to see a movie the night before every game, no matter how bad it is.

Why he might not be annoying:

Unlike most elite goalies, he's mild-mannered, pleasant and quirk-free.
He's the rare French Canadian goalie that doesn't emulate Patrick Roy's butterfly-style.
He's the only goalie with a realistic chance of breaking Patrick Roy's record of 551 regular season victories.
He's the best puck-handling goalie in the NHL.
He likes the anonymity of playing in New Jersey.
Instead of testing the free-agent market, he signed a long-term contract with the New Jersey Devils through 2007 for less than he's worth, because he wanted to stay in New Jersey.
In 2002, he back-stopped Canada to its first Olympic gold medal for men's ice hockey in fifty years.
On the same night he helped the Devils clinch their 8th straight playoff appearance, he won his 400th career game. In addition to becomming the youngest person to reach this achievement, he became the first person to do it with one team.
