    Mark Twain called her first novel, 'Irene Iddesleigh,' 'one of the greatest unintentionally hilarious novels of all time.'
    C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien had contests to see how long they could read her without laughing.
    She was snobbish.
    She overused alliteration in her works.

    Her husband paid to have her first novel published (awwwww).
    She bought a house with her earnings and called it Iddesleigh.

    Hey, she had a following among a lot of distinguished writers.
