Baseball Player
He went by the nickname 'Devo.'
He didn't take up baseball until his later years of high school.
He became a journeyman player following his stint with the Blue Jays.
He went from being an every day player to a platoon player in the final few seasons of his career.
His surname was misspelled 'White' as an immigration officer made a clerical error, and he didn't bother to legally change it to the proper spelling until 2003.
He excelled at making big plays during his prime years.
He won five consecutive Gold Gloves between 1991 and 1995.
He successfully stole second, third and home bases after getting on first base safely in a game. (1989)
He successfully caught a David Justice fly ball by jumping into the wall to catch it in Game 3 of the 1992 World Series.
His highlight reel catch in that game made him a fan favorite in Toronto.
He was a member of the first World Series championship teams in both Toronto (1992) and Florida (1997).
