Why they might be annoying:

Religious accounts mix faith, interpretation, fantasy and historical reality making accuracy suspect.
Assyrian invaders conquered and exiled them (Circa 721 BC).
Many resided on ships.
Genesis 49:17 describes this tribe as back stabbers. Some have even referred to Dan as the anti-Christ.
They fought with the Philistines.
Their people practiced pagan traditions.
Revelations does not accept them as one of the 12 tribes.

They were the largest Israelite tribe.
A 1990's band took the name Tribe of Dan.
They may have colonized Ireland.
Being the northernmost tribe they were most exposed to Israel's closest enemies (Assyria).
