William Cowsill (January 9, 1948-February 17, 2006) - lead vocalist/guitarist
Barry Cowsill (September 14, 1954-September 2005) - bass guitarist
John Cowsill (May 20, 1960- ) - drummer
Susan Cowsill (May 20, 1959- ) - vocals/percussion
Paul Cowsill (November 11, 1952- ) - keyboardist
Bob Cowsill (August 26, 1949- ) - guitar/organist
Recorded 'The Rain, The Park and Other Things' (1967), 'Indian Lake' (1968), 'Hair' (1969) and 'Love, American Style' (1970)

Why they might be annoying:

They inspired 'The Partridge Family.'
In fact, members of the family were approached to play the roles in the show, on the condition that Shirley Jones would be cast as their TV mother (obviously, they declined).
They appeared in milk ads.
They performed the theme song for 'Love, American Style.'
They were managed by their father.
They disbanded in order for the children to finish school, then reunited in the late 1970's (minus their mother) under the name 'The Secrets,' then 'The Critics' and finally - you guessed it - 'The Cowsills.'
In the 1990's, Robby Scharf joined the band, even though he is not a Cowsill.

Why they might not be annoying:

The family remained together and continued to do appearances.
Barry Cowsill drowned to death in New Orleans due to Hurricane Katrina.
William Cowsill died of emphysema and other ailments (February 17, 2006), just days after a memorial service for Barry.
