Why they might be annoying:

    They wore studded leather jackets.
    Their lead singer, Udo Dirkschneider, looked a little like Andy Rooney.
    Dirkschneider and guitarist Jörg Fischer both left the band for periods of time.
    Despite releasing 16 albums, they're mostly known in the U.S. for their 1983 song 'Balls to the Wall.'
    The video for the song featured a giant wrecking ball (Beavis and Butthead clowned the video).

Why they might not be annoying:

    Upon performing at a German rock and roll festival, they received their first recording deal.
    They toured with Judas Priest in 1981.
    They were part of the Monsters of Rock festival in 1984, which also featured Mötley Crüe and Ozzy Osbourne.
