Drafted second overall by the New York Islanders in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft
Defenseman for the Ottawa Senators (1996-2008), New York Rangers (2008-10), St. Louis Blues (2013) and the Boston Bruins (2013)

Why he might be annoying:

His nickname is 'Reds.'
The Senators, who had the top pick in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, passed on him and took Bryan Berard with the first overall selection.
He is prone to making mistakes in his own end.
Despite his offensive accolades, he receives little media attention.
He likes to golf during the off-season.
Despite having a $5 million salary, he was forced to play for the Rangers farm team over a two year period as the team tried to stay within the salary cap.

Why he might not be annoying:

Six months after the NHL Draft, The Sens under new GM Pierre Gauthier acquired him in a three-team trade with the Leafs and Islanders (January 1996).
He was a mainstay on the Sens blueline.
He took a paycut in order to stay with the team so they could remain under the salary cap.
He has played for Team Canada in all levels of the IIHF international tournaments.
He took a personal leave of absence to care for his mother who was dying of cancer (2005-06 season).
He scored in his first NHL game back from a two year exodus in the American Hockey League (2013).
