    Born in Brooksville, Florida
    Drafted ninth overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1987 NFL Draft
    Defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles (1987-91)
    Killed in an automobile accident in his hometown at age 27

Why he might be annoying:

    He fathered a son out of wedlock.
    He sparked a minor controversy by going against the NCAA dress code.
    He made a racially insensitive remark prior to the 1987 Fiesta Bowl banquet by saying 'Did the Japanese go sit down and have dinner with Pearl Harbor before they bombed them?'
    He was driving his Corvette at an excessive speed when he lost control of the vehicle, slamming into an electrical pole killing both his 12 year old nephew and himself instantly (1992).
    It is speculated that he and his nephew were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was considered one of the most feared defensive players in college football.
    He made the NFC Pro Bowl roster on two occasions (1990, 1991).
    His number 99 was officially retired by the Eagles, who coined the term 'Bring it home for Jerome' in reference to a posthumous Super Bowl championship.
    He earned posthumous honors with the Eagles franchise by being named to the franchise honor roll and to the 75th anniversary team.
    He had a community center in his hometown of Brooksville, Florida named in his honor.
