Football Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

His family nickname as a kid was 'Microwave King.'
He claims to never have drank alcohol, but also admits that most of his colleagues don't really believe him.
He regularly engages trash talking fans on Twitter (e.g. tweeting 'y'all make me sick' to Fantasy League players upset about his failing to score a touchdown during a Lions game).
He got into it with New England Patriot fans, in 2013, after admitting that he was pulling for the Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Finals, joking 'I hate everything about NE except KG.'
He later backtracked by saying his wife told him to take the high road, commenting: 'I understand that every Fan base has bad fans what I’m saying is NE fans have more than others and think they are better than everyone else' (which is mostly true, even if he shouldn't have said it).
After signing a $40 million deal with the 49ers, in 2015, he delivered two unremarkable seasons, catching just 20 passes for 267 yards in 12 games.
His lackluster performance resulted in his being unceremoniously released by team owners. By his own admittance, the experience with the team 'wasn't fun' (maybe playing for the team he beat in the Super Bowl had something to do with the awkwardness).

Why he might not be annoying:

He's the eldest of seven siblings.
He showed promise as a basketball player, both for Stafford High School, in Virginia.
He attested to living in a poor, dysfunctional - at times violent - household, once witnessing his mother point a gun to her head.
His brother was killed in a motorcycling accident (Sept. 2012).
He made the decision to play in his team's game against The New England Patriots the next day (they won 31-30).
He made two catches for a total of 35 yards during the Ravens' 2013 Super Bowl win, earning his first ring (which had to be particularly fulfilling given what he went through the year prior).
He has taken to Twitter to defend former teammate Colin Kaepernick and his National Anthem protest on several occasions.
He was an intern for Maryland congressman, Elijah Cummings (2013).
He posed for the Anti-Animal Abuse 'Show Your Soft Side' campaign, in part with Baltimore's Animal Shelter.
He runs a non-profit in his name aimed at supporting the needs of at-risk youths and underprivileged children.
