    (circa 1953- )

Couple's marriage lasted over 40-years and have three adult sons

Penned her personal memoir, 'A Doctor in the House: My Life with Ben Carson,' published in January, 2016
Attained active involvement on the 2016 Presidential campaign trail; making TV appearances and rally stump speeches

Why she might be annoying:

Michelle Malkin dubbed her 'The Anti-Michelle Obama.'
Like Candy Crowley and Chris Christie, she has an alliterative name that sounds like a sugary delicacy (it doesn't help that all three would probably consider themselves 'big-boned').
She claimed that she and her husband were brought together when they were recruiting for their alma mater late at night.
She alleges that Ben fell asleep at the wheel and nearly sent their car careening into a ditch at 90mph. She asserted that her husband didn't hit the brakes, but that the car 'stopped all by itself' likely through divine intervention.
She was initially against the idea of her husband running for President, but claimed to have changed her mind after the birth of one of her grandchildren (she reasoned they would be stuck paying off the nation's substantial debt).
She provided fodder for conspiracy theorists after hinting that she and Ben had their Australian passports handy - in the event that they had to seek asylum from the Democrats, should they motion to cancel future elections (Sept. 2014).
An October 2015 clip of her giving an off-key rendition of the Star Spangled Banner at one of her husband's rallies went viral on YouTube, with vloggers lampooning it excessively - some remixing the video with the infamous 'Screaming Sheep' super cut.
She inspired several 'this is what a REAL black First Lady looks like' memes which were circulated by conservative bloggers as a means of putting down Michelle Obama as 'angry.'
As if to say, 'oh yeah? well to can play at this game,' leftists circulated an internet meme comparing her appearance at her husband’s campaign kick-off to the First Lady in a stunning Vera Wang dress at a China State Dinner ('Hi, I'm President Obama, and I have Direct TV! Hi, I'm Presidential candidate Ben Carson and I have cable!)

Why she might not be annoying:

She had four siblings and was the daughter of a teacher/church organist and factory worker.
She triple-majored in music, psychology and pre-med and earned an MBA from Yale.
She is an accomplished violinist, having performed with the Yale Symphony and the Yale Bach Society.
She conducted the University of Maryland Medical Center Chamber Players.
She comes off as a more animated, certainly more analytical, public speaker than her husband.
Criticisms of her physical appearance were roundly denounced on both the Left and Right.
Joy Behar jokingly asked her husband if she would be in his cabinet, should he win.
She must have the combined patience of both Job AND his wife, to accommodate her husband's loony narcissism, on a daily basis for over forty years.
She wrote: 'the calling of a neurosurgeon isn’t easy to live out... the life of a neurosurgeon’s wife isn’t much easier. But it’s all been worth it. Together, we’ve been through poverty, tragedy, wealth, and joy, and I’ve come to love Ben more as each year has passed.'
