TV Series
    (November 14, 1988-May 18, 1998)
    Created by Diane English
    Aired on CBS
    Candice Bergen as Murphy Brown
Faith Ford as Corky Lynn Sherwood Forrest Silverberg (she got married a few times)
    Grant Shaud as Miles Silverberg
    Joe Regalbuto as Frank Fontana
    Charles Kimbrough as Jim Dial
Premise: Misadventures of a tough female TV journalist and her friends/colleagues in Washington DC
Most of the humor was stereotypical (ditzy blondes, life at work, etc)
Some of the key characters left the show, which was a key reason for it's end.
Faith Ford's character Corky lost her naive charm as she grew more mature and smarter.
Murphy Brown's son (who would have only been about 5 at the time, was played by Haley Joel Osment (who was at least 10).
The characters always seemed to be really angry at each other at some point in every episode.
Some of the plot lines were pretty unrealistic.
It angered then VP Dan Quayle that Murphy Brown had a kid out of wedlock.
The character of Miles Silverberg was an obvious rip off of Micheal Gelman from Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.
It was easy to relate to the show.
    It lasted 10 seasons.
It had a lot of guest stars.
    It satirized life at work.
Murphy Brown (the character) was ranked #51 on the 100 Greatest TV Characters of All Time.
Dan Quayle feuded with Murphy Brown being a single mom (remember, Murphy is a TV character).
