    Starting pitcher for the Chicago Cubs (2008-14) and the Oakland Athletics
    Former wide receiver for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (2003-06)

Why he might be annoying:

    His surname is extremely hard to spell and pronounce.
    He spent the early part of his career on poor Cubs teams.
    He was arrested for battery, after he shoved a police officer who initially arrested him for underage alcohol consumption (2003).
    He was forced to miss his first All-Star appearance as a result of being traded to Oakland (2014).
    He frequently shuffled back and forth between the starting rotation and the bullpen during his tenure with the Cubs.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He played both baseball and football at Notre Dame, and was considered to be a top prospect in the NFL Draft, before electing to pursue a full time baseball career.
    He was a finalist for the Fred Biletnikoff Award in two consecutive years (2005, 2006).
    He is of Serbian lineage, as his grandparents emigrated to the United States in the 1940's, making him a second generation Serbian-American.
    He comes from athletic lineage, as his father played ice hockey and his brother also played football and baseball, before pursuing a career in business administration.
    He holds the Notre Dame football team record for consecutive games with a touchdown reception.
