Why he might be annoying:

    He wrote 'Faithfully' for his wife Tane, then divorced her a year later.
    He said about the infamous video for 'Separate Ways,' 'I will never live down those air keyboards.'
    He began releasing Christian rock albums after marrying televangelist Paula White.
    His visit to the Trump White House (July, 2017) resulted in a public spat with Journey guitarist Neal Schon.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He survived the Our Lady of the Angels school fire, in which 92 students and three nuns died (December 1, 1958).
    He got the title for 'Don't Stop Believin'' from the advice his father gave him as a struggling musician.
    'Classic Rock' magazine named 'Faithfully' the greatest power ballad of all time.
    He and Schon buried the hatchet: 'In a relationship of forty years, you're gonna have bumps in the road.... There's a lot of misunderstanding, things were taken wrong.'
