Why he might be annoying
After Mark McGwire hit his, at the time, record-breaking 62nd home run, he asked for a hug on national TV (1998).
His mother suggested to Fox Sports' executive producer, Ed Goren, that he be considered for a job.
He acted in Woody Allen's 'Deconstructing Harry' as a sportscaster for the New York Yankees.
Why he might not be annoying
At 21, he graduated with a degree in English and a minor in telecommunications and became a radio and television broadcaster for the St. Louis Cardinals, the team that his father worked for.
He was hired by Fox Sports to call NFL games, which made him the youngest announcer to call a regular package of football games on network TV.
He called Mark McGwire's 60th, 61st and 62nd home runs (1998).
He's been married to the same woman for 10 years and has two daughters with her.
He's a breath of fresh air from your typical old-school sportscasters.
He's covered baseball, football and basketball, leaving only hockey for him to break into.
