Why they might be annoying:

Three of the band's members left The Doobie Brothers to form the band.
In addtion to having ex-Doobie Brothers Band members, they poached Stu from Creedence Clearwater Revival and David from Pablo Cruise.
Tim, Glen and Jerry left the band prior to the group's success.
They did an awful cover of Bruce Springsteen's 'Pink Cadillac' which served as the title song to the Clint Eastwood movie of the same name.
Their song 'Shoot for the Top' was included in the soundtrack for the box office flop 'Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol.'
David left the band following the release of 'Zuma,' leaving the band as a quartet for the final album.

Why they might not be annoying:

They got their name from the railway company.
They recorded duets with Emmylou Harris and Carlene Carter.
Their album 'Zuma' was the most successful of the four that were released.
Following the dissolution of the band, Keith and John returned to the Doobie Brothers.
Kurt founded Burnin' Daylight with former Exile member Sonny LeMaire and songwriter Marc Beeson.
Twelve years after the band's dissolution, their albums were released by an independent record label, which spawned renewed interest by 1980's country fans.
