Why he might be annoying
    The F.B.I. recorded that he cheated on his wife.

    His fight for civil rights may have been a selfish one in that it only focused on African-Americans.

    His public speaking abilities didn't develop until later in his life.
Why he might not be annoying
    He believed in non-violent protest to earn civil rights for all people.
    He said: 'Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
    Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.'
    He was unfairly arrested for driving 30 MPH in a 25 MPH zone (January 26, 1956).
    He was arrested when demonstrating for civil rights in Birmingham (April 1963).
    A quarter of a million people went to the Lincoln Memorial to hear Martin Luther King's 'I Have a Dream Speech' (August 28, 1963).
