Why he might be annoying:

He was rumored to have named the Chargers to promote the Carte Blanche credit card he had recently introduced for Hilton customers.
He demanded that San Diego pay for a state of the art stadium for the Chargers rather than pay for it himself.
The exterior of his residence in Holmby Hills was filmed for the Colby mansion in the Dynasty spin-off ‘The Colbys.’
He is the grandfather of Paris and Nicky Hilton.

Why he might not be annoying:

He served as a photographer in the Navy during World War II.
He earned his pilot’s license at age 17 and continued flying until he was 84.
He was married to Marilyn June Hawley for 57 years until her death.
He paid $25,000 for an AFL franchise fee and sold the Chargers for $10 million, a record amount for any sports team at the time.
He had Hilton Hotels expand into Las Vegas by purchasing the International and the Flamingo from Kirk Kerkorian (1970).
Just two years later, the two Vegas resorts were earning almost as much as the combined income from all 160 other Hilton Hotels in the US.
He announced he would donate 97% of his estate to the Conrad Hilton Foundation, a charity founded by his father (2007).
