    Announcer Chick Hearn referred to him as Jamaal 'Smooth as Silk' Wilkes.
    He acted in the 1975 film 'Cornbread, Earl and Me.'
    Injuries prevented him from playing in the 1985 NBA Finals.
    He was traded to the Clippers after the 1985 Finals despite the fact that he was instrumental in helping the Lakers reach the Finals four out of five years between 1980-1985.
