Why UPN (TV Network) might be annoying:

During the late '70s, Paramount wished to launched a fourth network to compete with ABC, CBS and NBC. The centerpiece series was 'Star Trek: Phase 2' set to premiere Spring 1978. Unable to attract affiliates and advertising, the network was scrapped.
In its first year, it only offered six hours per week of original programming.
A majority of the programming is specialized for YUBs (Young Urban Blacks).
Viacom owns CBS and thus competes against itself.
They actually tried to push 'The Mullets' on the public.
In August 2004, they were still trying to sell their 2004 Top Models calendar.

Why UPN (TV Network) might not be annoying:

They started out on top. Their premiere two hour episode of Star Trek Voyager was the highest rated show of the night (January 16, 1996).
The have been very successful with Tyra Bank's 'America's Next Top Model' and 'WWE's Smackdown.'
When the WB cancelled 'Buffy,' they bought the rights.
    Slogans:
    2002 - Turn It Up
    2003 - It's Time for U
    2005 - Gotta Have U (?)
