He was primarily a minor league player.
He played for eight teams in four different leagues during the course of his career.
He was fired by the Canadiens at midseason.
After guiding the Devils to the Atlantic Division title, he was fired with three games left to go in the regular season (April 2007).
Why he might not be annoying
He was a successful head coach at the junior and minor league levels.
He guided the Canadian junior team to a bronze medal (2000).
He is considered a player's coach.
Following the tumultuous stint with the Devils, he was given another chance to be a head coach when he was hired by the Bruins.
