Other members of his tribe were able to lull him into a false sense of security allowing him to think he was running the show.
He admittedly was quite surprised when he was voted off.
Without Janu as his supposed pawn, his plan lost leverage.
His best friend, who surprised him on his reward, has the same name as he does.
He tipped his hand that he had a relationship with Jennifer Lyon when he asked her permission during a reward challenge.
He loves the smell of freshly cut grass.
He idolizes Julia Roberts.
He cried like a girl when he had to say goodbye to his best buddy, who visited him on Survivor.

Why he might not be annoying:

Understanding it was most important to fit into a master plan, he had a better understanding of game politics than he let on.
He orchestrated Stephenie’s downfall without a hitch. In the following round, he fell prey to the same ploy.
He earned MVP honors captaining baseball (shortstop) and football (quarterback) teams.
He took Willard’s advice (‘Stay strong, stick to the plan, finish ’em off!’) seriously.
He loves reading short stories.
