Born in Chicago, Illinois
DIed at the age of 14 in Money, Mississippi after a brutal beating
Was spending his summer with his uncle at the time
His face was so disfigured, his mother wanted to his funeral to be open-casket so that everyone would see how he died

Why he might be annoying:

He ignored his mother's advice to mind his manners around white people.
It is believed that his murder was instigated when he whistled at a white woman.
According to the woman, he grabbed her arm and asked for a date.
His nickname was 'Bobo.'
His father was convicted of raping two women and killing a third, before being hung by the United States Army in Pisa, Italy.

Why he might not be annoying:

He suffered from polio as a child which left him with a stutter.
He died from a gunshot wound after being beaten, and had a ceiling fan tied to his body which was thrown into the Tallahatchie River.
His murderers were acquitted of their murder charges.
His death restarted the dormant Civil Rights Movement.
His murderers never showed any remorse for their actions.
