He often used phrases like 'let's be heard' and 'straight ahead'.
He was known to use a host of derogatory Italian phrases (Bob was an Italian-American) for people he disliked, such as Former New York Governor Mario Cuomo.
He was sometimes labeled as a racist, due to comments such as likening Former New York City Mayor David Dinkins as 'the men's room attendant at the 21 Club,' and by dubbing African-Americans as 'savages.'
He was fired for an insensitive comment regarding the plane crash death of Commerce Secretary Ron Brown on April 3, 1996.
His local show was briefly syndicated (1997), but failed due to lack of interest.

Why he might not be annoying:

He had a very long radio career, including three stints in one city.
One of his catch phrases, 'Get off my phone,' was used by fellow conservative talker Glenn Beck as an homage.
He was one of Howard Stern's inspirations to start his radio career.
