Hockey Player
    (December 5, 1991- )
    Born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada
    Raised in Farmington, Michigan
Drafted 12th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft
    Defenseman for the Anaheim Ducks
He initially agreed to attend Notre Dame on a scholarship, only to relent and play in the Ontario Hockey League.
His decision to relent on his agreement with Notre Dame led the university to become suspicious on whether or not he accepted an under the table deal to play with Windsor.
Some Canadian fans were angry at the fact he elected to play for the United States, despite the fact he only lived in Canada until the age of 2.
Some hockey pundits felt he was brought into the NHL way too prematurely.
Despite playing a finesse style of game, he was often compared to Chris Pronger and Dion Phaneuf, who primarily played a physical game.
He was a pitcher in high school, before electing to pursue hockey full time.
When he was asked about the allegations of accepting money under the table to play in the OHL, he said he felt it was better suited for his needs in order to prepare as a player.
He was a member of a deep Windsor team that won their second consecutive Memorial Cup championship (2010).
He was a member of the U. S. National junior team that won their second Gold Medal in a six year span (2010).
He moved to the United States as his father worked for the Ford Motor Company and was relocated to the American operations plant.
