    None of his non-Paladin TV shows were ratings successes, including his self-titled show that lasted just 25 episodes.

    He is a seventh generation nephew of pioneer Daniel Boone.
    He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He saw combat on three different ships.
    He studied modern dance under Martha Graham and taught acting classes at New York City's famed Neighborhood Playhouse.
    Marlon Brando personally asked him to direct the final scenes of a noir movie they did together; 'The Night of the Following Day.'
    TV Guide named his character Paladin as #24 on their list of 'TV's 50 Greatest Characters Ever' (October 1999).
    Writer Don Miller said 'Richard Boone has the knack of making a character believable by just standing off to one side and slouching.'
