Vocalist

The Resume

    (May 2, 1976- )
    Born in Marine City, Michigan
Runner-up in the final season of X-Factor USA (2013)
Vocalist for Rival City Heights, Dry Cell, Band with No Name (BWNN), Dragonfly, and <3938>Stone Temple Pilots<3938> (2017– )

Why he might be annoying:

‘Gutt’ rhymes with ‘boot,’ giving it a German air.
He lists Guns ’n Roses as an influence.
Having lived in Los Angeles for most of the 2000s, he only learned about his son (then eight months old) when he returned to Michigan nine years later.
He started out with STP on the second self-titled album (yes, they had another, in 2010, on top of the deaths of two predecessors).
A few days prior to the official release of ‘Perdida,’ he suffered a herniated disc requiring therapy and surgery.

Why he might not be annoying:

He lists Jon Bon Jovi (not so much his band) and Nirvana as influences.
It wasn’t his first time on X-Factor; he made it through two boot camps in the second season.
Demi Lovato would go on to consider him ‘the Josh Groban of rock ’n roll.’
Unlike Weiland, he doesn’t use a megaphone.
Princess Alia bint Hussein (of Jordan) expressed an interest in having him as the voice of her namesake foundation.
