After a Vanity Affair photo shoot, it was reported that many of the cast members don't get along.
The writing at times was inconsistent.
It revived the careers of many washed up middle aged actresses.
The Van De Kamp family was based on the creator's real life.
Teri Hatcher was originally paid much more than the rest of the cast members were.
Ricardo Antonio Chavira was almost turned down for his role because they thought he was too young.
Jesse Metcalf looked much older than the eighteen year old character he portrayed.
They killed off many charaters.
It was a prime time soap with many continuing stories being played out simultaneously.
Why Desperate Housewives might not be annoying
Its charm was that it did not take itself seriously.
It was a consistently high rated show in its first season (2004-05).
It dealt with controversial issues including implied nudity and sex scenes.
The gown Eva Longoria wore to mow the lawn in the pilot episode was lent to a high school student to wear at her senior prom.
It won numerous awards.
The Solises were tv's first Hispanic couple to have a gardener.
Its huge popularity was unexpected.
The cinematography was big-budget movie quality.
