    She describes herself as pro-choice, but sponsored a bill to ban abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy (2020).
    She voted for and against defunding Planned Parenthood.
    She said marriage should be a state issue, but voted for Constitutional amendments to define marriage as being between a man and a woman (2004, 2006).
    She voted against repealing 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' (2007), but responded to Trump's ban on transgendered troops in the military by saying, 'We should be thankful for any American who selflessly serves our country to defend our freedoms.' (2017)
    She was one of many Republican Senators who opposed voting on Merrick Garland before the 2016 election ('West Virginians and the American people should have the ability to weigh in at the ballot box') and then rushed Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation through the Senate before the 2020 election.
