The Resume

    (circa 1976- )
    Born in United States
    Resided in Yelm, Washington
Teacher at McKinley Elementary School in Tacoma, Washington (October 9, 2006- April 20, 2007)
Arrested and charged with the kidnapping of her ten year old male student for sexual purposes (August 11, 2007)
Was held on $500 000 bond and also investigated on suspicion of child rape and child molestation of the student

Why she might be annoying:

She abused not only a child, but her position of authority and trust as an educator.
At age ten, her victim was one of the youngest regarding sexual behavior between teachers and students.
She resigned from two previous teaching positions in other school districts due to professional judgment issues, and was placed on leave with the Tacoma school district after an investigation for inappropriately socializing with students outside school hours.
Previous employers were accused of giving deceptive references for background checks and not mentioning behavior concerns about Rice.
She was able to hold teaching positions due to no sexual misconduct being revealed during investigations concerning behavior issues.
She stated that she had sex with her victim several times before her arrest, including one time in his home after entering it while his parents slept.
She was arrested after abducting the boy from his home to have sex with him at a highway rest stop.

Why she might not be annoying:

She returned the boy to his uncle's home after the abduction when she learned that an Amber Alert had been issued for her vehicle.
Some of her former employers were criticized for withholding information from the Tacoma school district regarding her past behavior issues.
According to records, she held one teaching position without incident during her career.
She earned a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy during her teaching career.
Her situation made people question the need for accurate background checks for educators.
