Philosopher

The Resume

    (April 14, 1882-June 22, 1936)
Wrote 'Epistemology & Modern Physics,' 'Problems of Ethics'

Why he might be annoying:

    He was a logical positivist.
He was the founder of the Vienna Circle.
He was involved in a very heated and ongoing debate with Otto Neurath over the nature of verifiability.
He held that the only meaningful statements were either a priori or verifiable through experience. Therefore, much of philosophy was meaningless for him.

Why he might not be annoying:

Unlike most of the logical positivists, he held that ethical statements were still meaningful.
He completed a Ph.D. in physics under Max Planck.
His lectures were known for improvisation.
An insane student of his murdered him.
