The Resume

He was small for a goaltender.
He often rotated between the NHL and the minors before cementing the starting job in Washington.
He spent the tail end of his career on a horrendous Senators team.
He was relegated to backup duties in Toronto, upon being acquired by the team.
He was deemed expendable by the Caps, who had both Olaf Kolzig and Jim Carey in the system, who would both go on to start with the team.

Why he might not be annoying:

He guided the North Stars to the franchise's first Stanley Cup Finals appearance in his rookie season (1981).
He was the Capitals all time leader in wins, shutouts and games played (prior to Olaf Kolzig).
Prior to Braden Holtby, he was the last Capitals goaltender to defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins in a playoff series (1994).
During his stint with the Capitals, he was considered a workhorse by hockey pundits.
He operated a business that specialized in aerial lift equipment following his retirement from hockey.
