    Lover and literary executor of Oscar Wilde

Why he might be annoying:

    He lived off an allowance from his wealthy parents.
    He is better known for his relation with Wilde than his writing.
    He boasted about being Wilde's 'first boy.'
    He had sex with 14 and 15 year old boys.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was openly gay at a time when it could land you in jail.
    At Cambridge, he developed pneumonia after being thrown in a fountain by a group of students who were supported by a don.
    Unlike Lord Alfred Douglas, he remained loyal to Wilde.
    On the 50th anniversary of Wilde's death, his ashes were placed in Wilde's tomb at the Pere Lachaise Cemetery.
