Why Lopez Tonight might be annoying:

    Despite producers saying the show is modeled after a format started by Johnny Carson, the show has no desk where the host is seated behind.
    Lopez often plugs his obsession with the Los Angeles Lakers on the show.
    In fact, Kobe Bryant was a frequent guest on the show.
    Some say that his humor is corny and scathing like that of Sinbad.
    As a result of Conan O'Brien's new talk show, the show moved from the 11PM to the midnight timeslot.

Why Lopez Tonight might not be annoying:

    The theme song is War's 'Low Rider,' which is an obvious homage to his former sitcom.
    In fact, much of the cast members from his former show reunited in one episode.
    The house band had previously played as a backup for singer Shakira.
    In reality, Lopez did not mind having to move his talk show to a different timeslot to accommodate 'Conan.'
    Despite fierce competition for rival talk shows, the show has had substantially good ratings.
    By virtue of his own talk show, TBS touted that Lopez became the first Latino to host a late night talk show on American television.
