Why he might be annoying:

    His name tends to be pronounced ‘gawd’… as in, ‘Oh my Gawd!’
    During a summer camp stay, he hit on the bright idea of doing an impromptu impersonation of their rabbi… with awkward results.
    Before his one-man shows in the 1990s, stand-up comedy was not much of a thing in Paris — never mind Casablanca!
    He’s had three partners within a 17-year span (two of whom bore him a son apiece).
    Though he studied political science in Montreal for four years, he did not graduate the university – not made clear by their respective institutional records – where he studied.

Why he might not be annoying:

    Born a Moroccan Jew, with blue eyes, he would grow up to speak four different languages.
    Despite his fluency in English, he worked with an English teacher to get his comedy material down.
    Since his father was a mime, he came by his craft honestly.
    He would repay the rabbi he impersonated at camp with his own mitzvah.
    Emojis (‘picture characters,’ used in digital media) are not a strong suit of his.
    ‘I love being anonymous, being in a place where no one cares.’ (He moved to New York City in 2015.)
