Why he might be annoying:

He called the French national coach a 'sac de merde (sack of shit)' and never played for his nation again (1988).
He was suspended by the French football federation for throwing the ball at a referee (1992).
He was sent off on several occasions for stamping on opponents (e.g.: March 19, 1994).
He left Sheffield Wednesday soccer club to join Leeds United within a week of arriving in England.
After being sent off in a soccer match against Crystal Palace, he attacked a spectator and was banned for 9 months (Jan 25, 1995).
At a press conference he explained his actions saying, 'When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.'
Six years later, he admitted he was talking rubbish (Jan 25, 2001).
His films have largely been panned by the critics.
When he dies, he wants his ashes scattered at Manchester United's stadium.
He has a Native-American head tattoo on his chest.

Why he might not be annoying:

The French team won the World Cup and European Championship without him.
He was undoubtedly a skillful footballer, but had no control of his temperament.
While he was banned, he taught soccer skills to under-privileged children.
He had psychologists trying to interpret his 'seagulls' speech for six years.
