Why he might be annoying:

He made his film debut at age 12.
His film career amounted to nothing after winning the Oscar.
Even though he's of Greek descent, he won an Oscar for playing a Puerto Rican.
He charges for his autograph.
When he was shooting 'West Side Story,' he and the other actors would perform a rain dance in a joking attempt to get some time off.
After rain actually delayed the shooting schedule, the producers asked them to stop doing the rain dance.

Why he might not be annoying:

He played Bernardo (the leader of the Sharks) in the film version of 'West Side Story,' but played Riff (the leader of the Jets) in the London stage production.
He recorded several successful albums.
