Why he might be annoying:

He’s actually not Jewish.
Due to his taking out much of the ethnicity from ‘Fiddler On The Roof,’ critics were calling him Norman Christianson.
He stated that all you need in Hollywood to be a star is to have a cute ass or great boobs.
He wrote an autobiography.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was married to his wife for over 50 years, until she passed away.
On a trip through the southern United States in his teens, he was appalled by the racism he encountered and used this as an inspiration in many of his films.
He founded the Canadian Centre for Advanced Film Studies.
