Why he might be annoying:

He was the least well-known of his father's sons.
He was elected Great Khan even though his brothers were absent from the election.
Kublai Khan halted his military campaigns for a while in order to challenge his legitimacy as Great Khan.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was supported by government ministers and powerful families based in Karakorum, who said that the youngest son gets to inherit the title and original land.
He sympathized with Christianity.
He was imprisoned by Kublai after his surrender.
Some of his descendants became prominent figures in the Il-Khanate in Persia and the Yuan Dynasty in China.
