    (January 1, 1745-December 15, 1796)
    Born in Easttown, Pennsylvania
    Brigadier general in the American Revolution
    Led the 'Legion of the United States' in a campaign against the Indians of the Northwest Territories (1792-95)
    Victory at the Battle of Fallen Timbers (August 20, 1794) effectively put the Ohio River valley under US control

Why he might be annoying:

    He was nicknamed 'Mad Anthony' for his fiery temper and impulsive behavior.
    He served a year in Congress as a Representative from Georgia, but lost his seat due to a dispute over whether he met the residency requirements.
    He was injured by a tree falling on his tent (August 3, 1794).

Why he might not be annoying:

    His bravery was repeatedly praised by George Washington.
    His victory over the British in a surprise attack at Stony Point, New York was a major boost to American morale (July 15, 1779).
    He inspired the names of John Wayne and Bruce 'Batman' Wayne.
