Why he might be annoying:

He married for political influence.
He became the leader of Florence when he was just 20 years old.
He was known as 'the magnificent' while still alive.
He was supposedly 'deeply religious,' even though during his reign he and the entire city of Florence was excommunicated.
He failed in his efforts to encourage Italian unity.
Niccolo Machiavelli constantly kissed his ass and dedicated the fascist handbook 'Il Principe' to him.
He wasted state funds on personal projects and lined his pockets with state money.
He had an unpleasant singing voice.
He looked like a lockjawed Quentin Tarantino.
He enjoyed playing practical jokes.
A priest yelled at him while on his deathbed.
He died six months before Christopher Columbus re-discovered America.

Why he might not be annoying:

Two of his sons became popes.
He was a patron of the arts, financing Leonardo da Vinci, Donatello, Sandro Botticelli, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Andrea del Verrocchio and Michelangelo.
He respected the independent vision of the artists.
He promoted humanism and secularism.
